Stewards of God’s Grace was commissioned as part of Bowling Green State University’s annual commissioning raffle, sponsored by their SCI student chapter, Praecepta, in the spring of 2008 for RD Mathey. The text is adapted from various editions of 1 Peter 4: 8-11, a verse about grace that I hold as a personal creed. It was a joy to set this text to music.

Text:

“Above all, hold unfailing your love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Practice hospitality ungrudgingly to one another. As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the varied grace of God. Whoever speaks, speak as one who utters the Words of God. Whoever serves, serve with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To God be the glory, forever and ever! Amen.”
